AFAA Harder than expected

I have received my cert last week. I wasn't sure I passed so it was a nice surprise.
The test was hard mostly due to the fatigue after 2.5 grueling days. My advise is to really know THEIR manual and do the workshop, all the answers are there. The exam consists of 120 questions (20 of them visual) and a practical test, which is very important, especially in terms of how you are with the client.

If you study hard and listen to what the AFAA tell you to pay attention to during the seminar you will pass and will be glad you did - three days of that stuff are tough.

Need Help

I am taking the workshop June26th- 28th.
I can not order the main book and dvd till friday. That gives me 2 weeks till the workshop.
My question is. Am I going to have enough time to really study before the workshop? I am 40 yrs old and have a hard time remembering things. I am really stressing over this.

I took the Personal
Training 3 day Workshop. I passed the test, but not the practical. Any advise in how to prepare to re-take it?

second time was the charm

I also passed the written and had to re-take the practical. I now passed the practical the second go around and realized that they really want you to go through the SAMSE technique on pg.167 of your textbook. Do that literally word for word and you should be ok. I also realized that I didn't give enough information about the joint actions and what muscles were being worked at each site. Be sure to know this!

I don't know why so many people have said that AFAA is so easy to get certified through. I studied hard and thought i failed my written but passed and thought I did ok on my practical but failed it. Going to get signed up to retake it asap. I guess I'll study up more on the SAMSE method.

What is the SAMSE technique on pg 167? I looked it up, in the textbook and in the glossary but cannot find it - is it an Acronym? Please help with an answer

taking the practical exam

I did the online version (no workshop) studied on my own with the video lectures. You get an on-line "study group" and are told what to study - Chapter 8 is vital for the practical. My practical is in 10 days and I am terrified! I just wish I knew the possible scenarios for the practical. I am so going to fail!

I failed the practical by 1 point

I received my results today. I passed written with missing 6 out of 120 questions. I failed the practical exam by 1 point. 9/10 required to pass I scored 8/10. Super bummed! and not even sure if I should retake it. All the workshops are 1-2 hours away from me and there's $75 fee to retake it. I got extremely nervous during the test. The instructor was excellent. It's not her fault that I failed I simply wish there wasn't a fee to retake and that there was a closer location. I'm in Modesto, CA
