boooooo 24 hour fitness
i worked for 24 hour fitness for 3 years and it started off great. i was young didnt really know where i wanted to go with my life and the money was right. i stuck with it and moved up in the company fast. as time went by i soon realized the company was shifting in a different direction. from what i recall employees used to get paid way more and they slowly tried drilling in our heads that a new improved comp plan was coming our way. well it didnt work that way. in the past years the company has taken more and more money from the ones that run the club. the companies money goes straight to the DM's and RVP's. i think its BS. they need to make a fast change if they want to start shifting towards the light again. the turnover rate is insane. id say people are sugarcoated. 24 hour fitness is great as a gym because they have a lot of locations and hours are good, but the company itself and people that make up the company are crap!
for trainers the only advice i can give you is to not stick with the company too long. i think its a great way to get your feet wet and build that clientele you need but move on as soon as you do. the company keeps way way way too much of that money sold in training.
front desk people, wow its a freaking easy job. scan memberships keep track of their dues phone calls meet and greet. EASY! but again, just a side job. great way to get new sources and job oppourtunities. sales side, just go back to commission! overall, 24 is a cool temporary job or nothing to take serious.
