Can-Fit-Pro test without the course

I am certified by Can Fit Pro. I did not take the course. I just wrote the test and then performed the practical part of the exam. I felt like some questions on the written test were absurd.

Exam
by: daniel

is it still allowable to challenge the test without any prerequisites?? Can i go write the exam without taking a course??? if so how would i go about doing that? ... and what books would you recommend as a study guide that are the most cost efficient as well... because i am trying to gain certification... paying as little as possible seeing as i am already knowledgable in the field and do not have a great deal to invest. Please provide me with you advice.. it would be greatly apprectiated

GET REAL !

I have a University of Toronto Degree. I'm a Vertebrate Biology Specialist. That took 4 year to achieve. I won Mr. National 3 years in a row. That took me 7 years to accomplish! Now Mickey Mouse says, " I will certify you in a weekend." Give me a break !

So impressed..."Mr National"
by: Anonymous

OK "Mr National", time to get over yourself. I think The Scope of Ability of a Vertebrate Biology Specialist is slightly larger than that of a Canfitpro PTS. The scope of a PTS isn't very big as they cannot diagnose anything, nor can they even recommend supplements.

I guess its true....common sense isn't taught in University.

canfit joke

After 20 years of being certified with BCRPA and CanFitPro I forgot to renew my CPR not my First Aid just CPR because it is every year for their standards. They told me I was no longer certified and I would have to have a Pro Trainer come out and evaluate me. WTF
When all I did to be CanFitPro certified was pay them a fee and switched my certifications over.

To answer the original question
by: DrMattFitness (follow on twitter)

Hello,

To actually answer the question, (Which has nothing to do with how valuable or unvaluable a CanFitPro Certification may be)...

Yes you can challenge the course and just take the exam. You can do this by simply registering for an exam and showing up to write it. You can order the materials from humankinetics.com (maybe even Chapters, or Amazon as well)

Hope this helps.

Me too!
by: Anonymous

I too was threatened when my CPR wasn't in on time with taking the PTS practical exam for $99 when I had already faxed it in. The next year I had all my CEC's and CPR/First Aid submitted and then was told I did not earn any CEC'S and did not have CPR. I forwarded the confirmation emails back to the original person that sent them in the first place. I too was able to transfer over my FIS from the YMCA with no questions asked.

Advice

HI there,
As someone who is wanting to start a career in PTS is there a better program out there than Canfit Pro or one that is a little more courteous to their Trainers?
