IFPA is a Waste of time

I have been with IFPA as it was through my company. As I began to look to renew, I realized how difficult IFPA makes the process. I took several "outside source" ceu's which I was only able to use 1 of them. So while I has 8 total ceu's from classes I took, I was only able to use 2 of them, the remaining 10 had to be from IFPA. IFPA requires 12 for 1 year renew, and a 24 ceu specialty cert through them. The definitely limit you in what you can learn.
Well, that wasn't that big of a deal until IFPA charged for every little thing. To get results in 3 days instead of 6 weeks, you need to pay $25 per test you take, and the same goes for your recertification process.
Not to mention the CEU's are an absolute waste of time. I bought the strength training for 50+. Well, I would have been better off going to a local book store, cause this book was severely outdated (1998) and was essentially a picture book for 50+ to show THEM what to do versus a program design for a personal trainer looking to add education. I don't need to know how to use a leg curl or leg extension machine, and where to put my hands. It used machines that are not even in use anymore in my gym I work at.
I will for sure be seeking a different cert once mine expires.
Beware.
