Is ACTION a good starting point?

I'd like to start with general wellness fitness training and move to a specialty of training athletes. Is the ACTION certification a good starting point before moving onto ACSM or NASM for someone who is just starting out? I have a college degree and a background in sports but, don't have a degree in Biology, Exercise Science etc.?

good low risk option

ACT (which has recently been renamed ACTION Certification) is a good low risk option. Personal training is a tough industry and a lot of trainers don't make it. Rather than investing thousands of dollars in going to an expensive school, you can take the online classes through them for $25. Then you can decide if you want to be a personal trainer and get certified. You can always go for more advanced certs later but this is enough to get your started.

I have a advance personal trainer diploma, ACSM Textbook, and NASM Textbook, all three very detailed and comprehensive courses and I still learned unique and interesting info from the free ACTION Textbook and im considering purchasing their downloadable 15 recorded classes option.
