Just wanted to share a very reputable course that is online.
ISSA is a very detailed on line course. The exams are hard even though its open book. Its about $600 for personal trainer course. It's all on line plus they send you a lot of real book material and study guides in paper!!

I have been a trainer and group fitness instructor before several years ago(30 years ago) so I felt conformable with online testing. It was more in detail in medical/training/nutrition/science/medicine/seniors...etc then I could have ever expected. i thought it would be easier than what it ended up being. The studies take over your life so you really need to have time.

It is and open book final exam which people may think "this is easy" but regardless, it is very time consuming to go back and research everything all over again since I obviously cannot remember everything I studied. The exam really cemented it all together for me. There are 32 quizzes on line all through out the course and then the exam which is impossible to pass with out study aids and a lot time!!!

They are recognized by IHRSA just as ACSM,NASM are and several others.

ISSA is international as well and it is about 10 years old. Many people still do not know the name ISSA yet but they are recognized by all major health clubs including GOLDS and CRUNCH to name a few.

I am personally thankful for ISSA. I signed up as a new client not re certification (since that was 20 years ago) Does anyone have experience with ISSA Personal trainer certification and would like to share? thx
