National and State licenses and certifications?

Hello I was wondering if you could tell me about national certifications and state licensing for Personal trainers?

What exactly is the National Board of Fitness Examination? Is it an exam to be more recognized nationally as a personal trainer? What about State Licensing for Personal Trainers, is it kinda the same thing that massage therapist have to do?

There are no regulations

There are currently no national or state regulations governing the certification of personal trainers (in the USA). There are many organizations who claim to govern the process including NCCA, NBFE and the marketing departments of every certification... but there is nothing backing up their claims of quality assurance.

The reality is you are only as good as your knowledge and the ability to bring value to your clients with that knowledge. So learn as much as you can and continually strive for improvement.
