Rate PT Cert Exams

by Daniel
(Federal Way, Wa)

I am suggesting that you rate the difficulty of all the tests and arrange them in a scale order, from hardest to easiest. Also maybe you could list some shcools that offer degrees both on campus and online for phsyical trainers, athletic trainers, opr kinesiologists. I have been having a really hard time trying to find a school for a ny of these programs. Thank you for your time and any assistance that you may have.

Schools
by: Amanda

Hi Daniel,

I don't know of any schools on the west coast, but you may want to touch base with the folks at the East Coat Instructor Training School (http://www.ecaworldfitness.com/education.html).

That is where I received my schooling and initial certification. From there I got my ACE certification.

I would rate ACE and NASM the two top certs, with NASM the most involved and probably best (wish I had done that one instead of ACE!).

Good luck!

CHEK INSTITUTE
by: holistic.healthy.happy

NASM is notorious for being the top certification...

I would say that holds true for beginners... Once you have established yourself as a trainer and have decided that this is the career path of choice I would recommend getting certified through the CHEK institute. I say this because the assessments that are taught in the courses are innovated by physical therapists and based off clinical experience. The traditional approach to strength training through the use of machines is a thing of the past. When training your average Joe (especially non-bodybuilder) its very important as a trainer to educate your clients on posture and functional exercises that improve performance outside of the gym. That is what CHEK represents. CHEK it out @ www.chekinstitute.com.
